Exciting Announcement: BCHRI at the 55th Annual Scientific Meeting
We’re proud to share that Dr. Marcia Uddoh will be presenting at the upcoming 55th Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego (May 14-17, 2025).
Her session, "AI Models with HRV: Reducing Bias in Black Health Stress Measurement and Outcomes," will highlight the urgent need for culturally competent stress assessments using AI and Heart Rate Variability (HRV).
Why This Work Matters:
Chronic stress disproportionately affects Black communities, yet traditional measurement tools often fail to account for subgroup differences. Our research at BCHRI and Stress Vitals is focused on:
✅ Using HRV as a biomarker to measure stress more accurately
✅ Training AI models to detect stress patterns in Black subpopulations
✅ Addressing bias in health data to improve clinical decision-making
✅ Advancing health equity through AI-driven precision medicine
Session Details:
🔹 Title: AI Models with HRV: Reducing Bias in Black Health Stress Measurement and Outcomes
🔹 Date & Location: May 14-17, 2025 | San Diego Marriott Mission Valley
🔹 Presented by: Dr. Marcia Uddoh, PhD, MPH, MS, MSW, MD (candidate)
🔹 Target Audience: Researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, AI developers, and policymakers
This is an important step toward eliminating bias in stress assessment and ensuring that Black communities receive accurate, personalized health interventions.
We invite you to join us at the conference and be part of this critical discussion!
